The artist's garden is a supporting service project of Ruoxi Art Village, covering an area of 50 mu. It is a comprehensive international venue integrating artists' practical activities, art sketching, art education, art development training, summer camp, winter camp, international cultural and art exchange and other functions.

Farming and reading culture can be traced back to the spring and Autumn period. Ancient Chinese intellectuals took half farming and half reading as the best way of life. Farming and reading heirs and poetry and books heirs became the value orientation of life, forming a "farming and reading culture". Farming and reading have become the love of art creators, and TaoYuanming is an early pioneer, "both farming and planting, and sometimes reading my books". Su Shi hoed the east slope of Huangzhou, and Xin Qiji took "Jiaxuan" as the brand name. From then on, farming and reading became a way of life for literati.

Nanxi River is an important practice place of farming and reading culture, and this mountain and water are born for farming and reading. "Yiluo's profound views begin with respect, and Yongjia predecessors read a lot." Yongjia is located in the mountains in southern Zhejiang, and the traffic is extremely inconvenient, providing an excellent reading place for literati. When you study well, you become an official. You read good books, take part in the imperial examination, serve the country and the people, retire and return to your hometown, and set up academies to educate your children. This has become a common phenomenon in Yongjia since the Southern Song Dynasty.

Jiang Yunsu, the 16th generation disciple of the Sanfeng sect of Wudang, is named Ziwu. The masters and disciples practiced Taijiquan in the artist's garden.

The artist's garden was led by Zhou Jianpeng, a postdoctoral fellow of Peking University, guided by the United Front Work Department of Yongjia County and the people's Government of Hesheng town. Zhou Zhoutian, chairman of Yuanlong group, Zhou jianmeng, head of China's most beautiful international sketching base, and Zhou Song, former head of Ruoxi village, participated in the planning and construction.
