On the afternoon of September 2, Chinese and British artists came to shangrichuan village, Hesheng town to sketch. Neil Adams, a British oil painter, called his first work "a day on the Nanxi River". From September 1 to September 14, "when London meets Wenzhou - Wenzhou sketch and exhibition of Chinese and British Artists" was launched in Lucheng, Yongjia, Yueqing, Dongtou and other places, including exhibition, forum, sketch creation, cultural investigation and so on.
It is reported that the series of "when London meets Wenzhou - Chinese and British artists' sketching and exhibition in Wenzhou" is the second international cultural and artistic exchange activity after the "when Paris meets Wenzhou - Chinese and French artists' sketching and exhibition in Wenzhou" held from May 2018 to April 2019. It is hosted by the Municipal Bureau of culture, broadcasting and tourism, the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, the British Contemporary Artists Association, the Royal College watercolor artists association. It is co organized by Yandangshan Scenic Tourism Management Committee, the Municipal Association for foreign cultural exchange, the Publicity Department of Yongjia County Party committee, Nanxijiang tourism economic development center, Lucheng tourism and sports development center and Dongtou tourism development center, and jointly undertaken by the UK China Economic and Cultural Promotion Association and Yongjia Nanxi Academy. Through the in-depth cultural and artistic exchanges of "please come in" and "go in", it hopes to create a new international business card of Wenzhou.
Zhou Jianpeng, a postdoctoral of Peking University, the event planner, believes that through the thinking and exchange of this event, Chinese and British artists have made some attempts and discussions on the relationship between nature and creation, so as to enhance the friendship and cultural recognition between the two countries from the exchanges between artists and artists.
