1. Project Name

Hongluo Academy is an integrated building community, which includes exhibition hall, library, artist studios, artist sketching base, youth aesthetic education experience (expansion) base, and art homestay.

The academy mainly involves:

Chinese traditional culture forum, aesthetics lecture, academic research; art exhibition and art management; college sketching teaching, aesthetic education experience (expansion), domestic and foreign study tour; book publishing, sales, borrowing; agricultural and sideline products, art derivatives development, reside abroad and art homestay.

3. Development Goal

The ultimate goal of the project is to establish a pilot site for Rejuvenation of Chinese Traditional Culture Base

Three stages:

① October 2017-May 2018 （Initial stage）

In January 2018, the celebration of the 2018 Spring Festival in Huairou Town, organized by the People's Government of Hongluo Town and co-organized by Hongluo Academy, opened in Luzhuang Village Cultural Square, which marked a new experimental field of "art-assisted countryside", "aesthetic activity" and "rejuvenation of traditional Chinese culture" in Huairou, Beijing. On May 5, 2018, a "retro" fashion event was launched at the foot of Queshan, a neighbor of the Millennium Ancient Temple - Hongluo Temple. It was called "Queshan Elegant Collection", which marked the formal operation of Hongluo Academy.

② May 2018-May 2023 （Developing stage）

Up to now, Hongluo Academy co-hosted and co-sponsored "When Paris meets Wenzhou-Chinese and French Artists Sketching and Exhibition" (Wenzhou, Versailles); “Thousands of peaks and valleys”-Zhou Jianpeng Green Landscape Painting Exhibition; "Silk Road Tracing-Zhou Jianpeng Silk Road Landscape Painting Exhibition" and "Meeting" Brand Press; "Simsum " Episode 1 Season 1: New Posts of Hanshi - Academic Exchange with People of Song Dynasty Calligraphy Exhibition; "(2018-2019) China Green Landscape Painting Yearbook Exhibition and China Green Landscape Painting Yearbook Project Initiation Ceremony"; "Anniversary Celebration of Hongluo Academy and Zhang Zhaoda Zen Aesthetic Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition", "Sixth Anniversary of Hongluo Culture Seminar and the Death of Mr. Li Zhinan", "Aesthetic Walk|2018 Lecture Hall of Famous Lecturers Zhang Zhaoda-Fashion and Art (Lecture by Famous Fashion Designer and Fashion Artist Zhang Zhaoda),"Chenghuai Taste Image-Parent-Child Experience Activity of Calligraphy Art (Zhou Yan Lectures on aesthetic education, such as "Chinese and Western art appreciation" (sponsored by Hongluo Academy and lectured by Zhou Jianpeng, postdoctoral student of Peking University), etc. Chinese National Academy of Painting, Cheng Dali Studio, Beijing Academy of Painting, Fang Zheng and Studio, Alumni Calligraphy and Painting Association of Peking University and others carry sketching and teaching activities in Hongluo Academy; holding three activities of "Lihua Fair", "Liyuan Elegant Collection", "Mid-Autumn Festival Elegant Collection of 2018"; co-sponsoring "Benhuan Prize for Copying Classics"; receiving Party building and Team building activities of China Cultural Media Group, Huanqiu.com, etc. Nanxi Academy, Nanshi Culture, Sino-British Economic and Cultural Promotion Association launched the "Meet London|This summer, I have a trip to the UK to find beauty" tourism project, and jointly launched the "Root-seeking Tour - Sino-French Youth Art Tour" project with Nanxi Academy. "Aesthetic Walk| Chaoyang Experimental Primary School Class 8 Grade 1 Students to Hongluo Academy Expansion”, “Aesthetic Walk|Art Museum of Central Academy of Fine Arts" and "Aesthetic Walk|Aesthetic Walk". More than 50 leaders and guests from Beijing Cultural Bureau, Beijing Cultural and Art Center, the cultural committees of all districts and cultural museums of all districts came to visit, guide and investigate Hongluo Academy. Director Yang Shuo of Beijing Radio and Television Bureau visited Hongluo Academy. Visiting, guiding and investigating; holding public welfare activities of "I am a little financier" and "Luzhuang Reading Day"; and accomplishing the reception task of nearly 1,000 people. Next, the overall cultural landscape of Luzhuang Village will be built, the Embroidery Culture Museum will be built and put into use; on the other hand, the main infrastructure and hardware configuration will be completed.

3. May 2023 to May 2028 (long-term plan)

Build five cultural museums: Luzhuang Painting Museum, Luzhuang Calligraphy Museum, Buddhist Art Museum, Four Gentlemen Museum and Hulu Art Museum and build the brand of "Luzhuang·China". We will build Luzhuang into the most influential Chinese traditional culture revival base around Beijing. Taking Wenzhou and Huairou as demonstration sites, we will provide project guidance and cooperation for the traditional cultural revival bases in other parts of the country.

4. Humanistic Landscapes and Natural Landscape

1. Taking Hongluo Academy as the center, the 20 km area nearby includes Yanqi Lake, Mutianyu, Shengquan Temple, Wangjingtai, Qinglongxia and other famous scenic spots: suitable for Chinese painting, sketching and research, which provides good natural resources for artistic creation; 70 km away from Beijing urban area, this is suitable for creating youth aesthetic education experience (expansion) camps, local provinces and cities to travel to Beijing.

2. Hongluo Temple has profound humanistic connotation and it is the birthplace of Hongluo culture and the representative of northern Buddhist culture. It provides abundant fertile soil for the study of red snail culture, non-hereditary inheritance, traditional culture and aesthetic education.

3. The advantages of village location are obvious, it has a single industry, and the space for artistic restoration of rural areas and public cultural construction is big.

5. Architectural Space

1. Architecture itself becomes a work of art. Hongluo Academy, as a cultural landmark, which appears in Hongluo Temple scenic spot. It embodies the philosophy of "harmony between man and nature" by combining local traditional building materials and natural landscape elements.

2. The functional layout of the building reflects the concept of contrast between traditional culture and local culture.

6. Publishing

1. Publishing the magazine "Tongyin Inquiry Painting", with books as a substitute, two issues a year, it disseminate the essence of traditional Chinese culture around the activities of the center.

2. Publishing "the Rejuvenation Base of Chinese Traditional Culture - Nanxi Academy, Hongluo Academy" and "Impression of Hongluo - Research on Chinese Calligraphy and Buddhist Painting".

3. Publishing "China-Europe Cultural Exchange A Collection of Exhibition – Philip’s Oil Painting Collection" and other albums.

7. Academy Layout

The main building area of the academy is 2,000 square meters, with lecture halls, exhibition halls, libraries, studios, tea rooms, reading rooms, dining rooms, physiotherapy rooms, viewing platforms, rubbing workshops, etc. There are also rooms with rich literary and artistic flavor. The second academy covers an area of 6 Mu and has two reception buildings and star rooms. One is “Songfeng Pavilion”, with a building area of about 600 square meters; the other one is “Tingsong Pavilion”, with a building area of about 100 square meters; Liyuan Starlight House, with a building area of about 50 square meters; the artist's vegetable plot covers an area of about 4 mu, with colorful vegetable and fruit in the garden and dense fruit branches. "Toona Garden", "Pear Garden", "Cherry Garden", "Teacher's Heart Garden", "Bitter Melon Garden", "Vanilla Garden", "Luffa Garden", "Potato Garden", "Xiancao Garden", "Foot on Xiegongji" and other stone inscriptions, written by famous domestic scholars and artists, either stand in the middle of the vegetable garden, or lie under trees, or lie prone in the flowers... Elegant and interesting, so is called "Tipsy Green Garden”; The third one is about 600 square meters, with mounting workshop, pottery workshop, youth hostel, parking lot. It can be said "going into ancient temple in the early, the early sunrise shines the woods. The winding path leads to the secluded place, and the Zen Chamber has deep flowers and trees. Mountains are pleasant to birds, but pools are empty”. All sounds are silent here, but Zhongqin can be heard.

Overall objective: By 2025, the system of inheritance and development of Chinese excellent traditional culture will basically be established. Research and elucidation, popularization of education, protection and inheritance, innovation and development, communication and exchange will be coordinated to promote and achieve important results. Cultural products with Chinese characteristics, Chinese style will be more abundant, cultural consciousness and cultural self-confidence will be significantly enhanced, and the root of the country's cultural soft power will be strengthened. The foundation is more solid, and the international influence of Chinese culture will be increased significantly.
