The first lecture "Luo Zhenyu and Yin Shang oracle" of "Yongjia Culture Series Forum - three people talking about the origin of Chinese civilization" was successfully held in Nanxi academy, Yongjia, Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province on the afternoon of August 5, 2020.

In a 50 minute lecture, Professor Luolin, the guest speaker, shared with the audience the life of her grandfather (Luo Zhenyu, a master of traditional Chinese culture in the Qing Dynasty), the discovery process, academic contribution and inheritance of Yin Shang oracle. In the interactive session, Ms. Luolin also shared her writing experience of "Oracle calligraphy" and "Yin Shang oracle", as well as the knowledge of font adjustment, brush skills and so on.

Oracle bone inscriptions are an ancient Chinese character, also known as "Qiwen", "oracle bone inscriptions", "Yin Ruins characters" or "tortoise shell and animal bone inscriptions". It is recognized by the academic circles as the earliest mature text that can be seen in China. Oracle bone inscriptions mainly refer to the inscriptions carved on tortoise shells or animal bones by the royal family in the late Shang Dynasty. They are the manifestation of Chinese Shang culture and have played an important role in the process of human history and civilization. In addition to its historical and archaeological value, oracle bone inscriptions are also unique in their aesthetic value. Oracle bone inscriptions are carved on tortoise shells and animal bones with a knife. The size of the characters is scattered, and the strokes are thin or heavy, strong and changeable.

Guests gather at Nanxi Academy

Ms. Luo Lin, the guest speaker, is the granddaughter of Luo Zhenyu who is a famous Sinology master in the Qing Dynasty, honorary president of Anyang Yin Shang Culture Research Association, visiting professor of jewelry School of Beijing University for nationalities, and a famous Oracle calligrapher in China.

It is of special significance to invite the heirs of Mr. Luo Zhenyu to review the history that affected Chinese civilization and make history live in the form of a forum in Today's Wenzhou city which focuses on business. In the next two days , "three people talking about the origin of Chinese civilization" will also hold a series of lectures on "Gui Xiaoqi: Jade appreciation of Hongshan Culture" and "Zeng Li: tracing the source of ancient Yi language and civilization".

It is reported that Nanxi academy, located in the World Geopark and national 4A scenic spot in Yongjia County, Wenzhou City, was established in 2018. It is a comprehensive architectural community integrating art galleries, museums, artist studios and artist sketching bases in the suburbs of Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province. The main building area of Nanxi academy is about 4000 square meters, including art gallery, library, conference hall, collection room, exhibition room, viewing platform, artist studio, artist restaurant, etc. Nanxi academy adopts Chinese simple design style and is one of the important representatives of China rural art museum. The exhibition hall covers an area of about 800 square meters and is pided into two floors. The first floor of Nanxi Art Museum once exhibited the paintings of Chinese and French artists "when Paris meets Wenzhou". The second floor of the conference hall is used to hold lectures, conferences, academic forums and other activities.

Yongjia County is the birthplace of the famous "Yongjia school" in the Southern Song Dynasty. It has a long cultural history, rich cultural heritage and unique natural landscape. The holding of "Yongjia culture series forum" not only reflects Yongjia people's cherishing of traditional culture, but also reflects Yongjia's attention to cultural undertakings, cultural industry and cultural work in the new era.
